The FridgeFrame® Rides Again

It's pretty much rained nonstop all weekend, sabatoging my plans of refinishing that piano bench. So intead, I made the FridgeFrame®!

This is going to be a perpetual calendar. It has a layer of batting sandwiched in there, so the number dates can poke in. I'll post another picture when it's done:

Everyone... sing along!

(To the tune of The Inventor Song:)

Oh, it was...
Dad who first played (*whop!*) My Foe,
And it was Steph who made the elephant noise.
Well, it was Jenn's cougar! roaming the cliffs, the cliffs,
And Ryan's generator made from Tinker Toys.
A ball popped and Shair became Miss Crunchy Meat Pie,
On the piano Mom played John Denver songs.
So when you're spelling the word F-A-M-I-L-Y,
Don't forget the L's for the Longs (Thanks the big one!)
Don't forget the L's for the Longs!

A Project...

I found this cute piano bench at the Goodwill thrift store downtown. It's time for a little fixer-upper! Here are the 'before' photos... 'After' photos to come, when I've completely revamped it into the world's greatest single piece of furniture.

I'm going to turn it into an entry bench. I don't really have an entry in my apartment, but you get the idea. Wish me luck!

Fitting for it being Valentine's Day in a couple days.......

So, yesterday, as Jason helped Sydney get ready for school, she sighs and says "Me and Landon are in love."

Peyton's Near Death Experience

Update on Peyton. Peyton has turned into an uncommonly good child. He hardly ever cries which is so different from the first 2 months of his life as I remember it.

I picked up Peyton from his mother's work. She was going to the Jazz game with Sydney. During the ride home as I was singing to him, I heard this tiny little whimpering just a few little high pitched noises. They seemed partly a wheeze (which I am so familiar with) and partly a little singing. I was so flattered! Peyton was trying to sing like me!! By the time I got into the driveway, went to get him out of the car seat, I saw that the poor little thing had his hood down over his chin and was trying so hard to shake it off. What I egotistically thought was Peyton mimmicing is grandmother's beautiful singing, was a cry for help!

All things turned out well. I fed him and he ended up in Grandpa's arms, fast asleep.
