From the depths.....

Hello all! If you haven't noticed, I haven't really been all that reachable for the past little while. No e-mail, no phone calls, I have been so utterly busy. It's the start of school which by itself is a big thing and takes up all my time, but add on the fact that I have a new guy who litterly is attached to me like a shadow. I'm seriously about to break. I need a little space! Anyway, trying to get him set up and trying to keep up with all my responsibilities at work is a harrying experience and I'm so new at it. I'm learning every day. Hopefully soon, it will get a little back to normal. Good news is that I think I'm well better off this start of school than in the past, so that's cool!
Well, some people were asking about Sydney's birthday. We had a party for her, invited her friends from school. We were a little nervous because, not only did no one call to RSVP, for about the first half hour, Sydney was outside by herself playing in the water, the back yard all decorated, a silly little grin on her face. Luckily everyone showed up and it ended up being quite a bunch of kids and people and of course, she was totally spoiled with friends, family, and gifts. I think she had a great time! I have uploaded the latest pictures, with birthday included, on the shutterfly account that we have. Take a look if you are interested.
I have about 4 1/2 weeks left of pregnancy and then our baby boy will make his appearance, and I am ready. I am so tired and really would like to bend again! ha! Actually I just really want to ride my bike and the weather is going to turn sour not long after he's born! I am looking forward to some time off with the baby and Sydney.
Football season is here, yea! We have our draft next weekend! wish me luck! Once my head is a little more in order, I'll try to see if this blog made sense and try to figure it all out! Peace out!

Honey... I'm home.

I went camping with Leandra over the weekend in Oregon. I absolutely LOVE Oregon! And to top off this trip, we drove up to the Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood, where they filmed all the outside shots (including the hedge maze!) of the movie The Shining. Below is a still from the movie, along with a couple of pictures I took. From the car -- because like the name implies, the lodge is right at the tree line on a very high and very cold mountain.

Wooooo Live Music

Hi everyone. If you're in the neighborhood (and why wouldn't you be?), you should drop in on the Bytown Tavern Saturday night at 9pm to see everyone's "favorite" singer/songwriter/player of guitar solos perform a 45-minute solo acoustic set as the opening act for Ottawa's incomparable originals/covers band Rocket Lounge (www.rocketlounge.net). You'll hear all your favorite Ryan standards along with a few select covers from the icy depths of the back of my brain.

See you there (right?).

Vacation over.

Today just happens to be our anniversary. 38 years! Time flys when you're having fun.

Our vacation is over. It contained lots of golf and doing little things we enjoy. We spent the first week worrying about Ryan because he was so sick. Stupid sicknesses.

One funny thing that happened was when we went down to Palisades State Park to play golf. The park is in a little town called Sterling just a couple miles south of Manti. I was wearing the UofA LAW shirt Ryan had given me. It has UofA in small letters, a coat of arms type shield, and LAW in bigger letters. It must look quite official. After golf we stopped at the little combination gas station/country store/fast food place. There were 3 or 4 other men in there and as we were waiting to pay for our refills and candy bars, Jaynee said one of the men was standing behind me and silently indicating to the others. He was pointing to me, then moving his finger across his chest for them to notice the logo on my shirt. Apparently because my shirt said LAW they thought I must me some sort of law man. I have no idea what they may have been up to, but they didn't want to spill the beans with me there.

And that was the exciting part of our vacation.

I don't feel so good...

I think I'm fighting something off. My throat doesn't want to swallow, my neck and shoulders are annoyed, and my cheeks are feeling the pressure.

Hopefully spin will spin it out of my system.

Otherwise, the only cure will be to read about Sydney's birthday party -- WITH photos, mind you -- on this blog.
