Finally, recognition for my service to my country. Being ignored is typical of all Vietnam War veterans. Other than my wife and my children, this is the first of any kind of recognition or "thank you" I've ever received. Can you find my name? The statue is of a Revolutionary War minute man.

Kayenta Street Painting Encore Day

Drew the Tim this time. 5' x 7'. :)

These photos are a bit deceiving -- there's actually a lot of color in there. Aside from that big patch of black fur, the rest is almost exclusively color, and there's very little white that's plain white. Her black fur on the back of her head is purple and gray with red undertones; the white fur under her neck is gold and blue and purple. Even the water has green and gold in it as well as blue. Superfun to lay down and blend all the different colors!

Kayenta Street Painting Festival

After getting rained/snowed out on Saturday, Sunday's street painting was a smashing success. :) Here are some photos of my drawing -- my running shoes on the Dino Cliffs trail.

I even made The Spectrum — the local newspaper — with another one of my stupid "wind in my hair" comments:
Local artists like Stephanie Long, from St. George, used the occasion to try out their skills in a different environment.

Long, an avid runner, drew a pair of sneakers with Southern Utah's distinctive red rock landscape in the background.

"I'm a runner, and my favorite thing to do is run in these beautiful red hills," she said. "So I drew what I love."

Fun in St. George

We had lots of fun in St. George. I'll bet the rest of you are jealous. Really jealous.

A bit of spring...

$3 a bunch/3 bunches in this vase. A few dollars sure buys a lot of pretty sunshine. Plus yellow always reminds me of Shari. :)
